La Classe d'Histoire de l'Art au Louvre

I can hardly believe it... Today I attended my history of art course at the Louvre museum located in the heart of Paris. It was fantastic! My fellow classmates and I stood in front of the original paintings to discuss them, a way of learning I had only ever dreamed of. It was a phenomenal experience, and I soaked up every minute of it.

I really enjoy learning with the guidance of my art history professor, Ulrike. She engages her students in learning about the artists and their works in a logical way. She is concerned with teaching the time period and the style of a work, and how to visually distinguish these styles. It is an understatement to say I am learning much in her course.

It's funny... I've been to the Louvre before, as well as Les Invalides, Versailles and soon Normandy, but the experiences have been very different. It feels good to come back to these places, and to remember who I was then, and where I wanted to go.
